UPDATE: Full Closure of Pearl/Olive Street Exit off Woodall Rodgers Freeway
TXDOT closed the Pearl/ Olive St. Exit off Eastbound Woodall Rodgers Freeway on January 5, 2011 for construction of The Park. The exit will be closed until some time in July of 2011. TXDOT is directing motorists to use the Eastbound Field/Griffin Exit during the temporary closure.
Olive Street
The construction of Museum Tour will result in the loss of at least one lane of Northbound Olive Street through the end of 2012.
In addition to the construction of Museum Tower, the extension of the McKinney Ave trolley line will result in the loss of 1-3 lanes of Olive at varying times through 2011. Upon completion, the trolley will run counter flow in the westernmost lane of the Northbound lanes of Olive Street.
The Park / Woodall Rodgers Freeway
Woodall Rodgers Freeway is currently open. Intermittently, the contractor will close one or more lanes of the freeway for construction, and signage will announce those areas. In July, TXDOT will close more lanes necessitating single side closures.
Roads Affected by Construction
- The St. Paul exit is now open with a temporary exit ramp that can accomodate cars, but not large trucks.
- The Woodall Rodgers Freeway frontage roads, both east and westbound will remain open with the lane nearest the construction (the left lane) closed for the duration of the project and occasional closings of other lanes for special projects.
Please log onto the TxDOT website for further traffic updates at DFWTraffic.dot.state.tx.us. In addition, TxDOT will be posting all construction traffic information on the Mobility section of The Park’s new website TheParkDallas.org.
Please note that all closures and alternative directions provided are subject to change. We will continue to provide updates as we receive them.
