Use a variety of techniques and media to create many fun and unique works of art inspired by daily gallery visits. Paint, print, collage, and build 3-D sculptures. Enjoy creating with textures, patterns, and layers of design — the possibilities are endless!

One print, two print, three print — how many more? Learn basic printmaking techniques including texture rubbings, stamp making, and mono-type printing. Be inspired by the Museum's collection and then use cardboard, yarn, carved foam, and more to print your own artistic creations in the studio.

This camp has something for everyone! Bring your imagination and creativity as we draw inspiration from the Museum's collection and then return to the studio to experiment with collage making, painting, drawing, printing, and more.

Sharpen your pencils and drawing skills! Try your hand at a variety of drawing techniques with an emphasis on refining your observation skills and learning introductory methods for using colored pencils, oil pastels, and even tempera paint. Explore color on gallery walks, sketch from works of art in your own sketchbook, and create your own masterpieces in the studio.

Calling all fashionistas! Do you ever wonder where fashion designers get their inspiration? Find your inner fashion star in this camp all about creativity in design and thinking outside the box. Using works from the Museum's collection as inspiration, you will have the chance to work with a new guest artist each day, including Shirin Askari, fashion designer and former contestant on Project Runway. Create accessories, craft wearable art using recycled materials, learn how to draw a fashion sketch, and put together your own collection to show off on the last day of camp. If you love fashion and design, this is the camp for you!

How many different sculptures can you create in one week? Find out as you use a variety of different materials to produce sculptures inspired by the Museum's collection. Explore three-dimensional art and learn about the many ways it can be created. At the end of camp, show off your creations and become a living sculpture as you participate in the grand finale performance!

Interact with works of art in the galleries, engage in a variety of hands-on experiences, and explore art processes to create a work of art in the studio during this four-day camp designed specifically for children with autism spectrum disorders. Taught collaboratively with an autism specialist and Museum staff, this camp will offer various media experiences and will focus on themes in works of art from many cultures. Area-ISD autism specialists and occupational and physical therapy students will assist with the camp throughout the week. Each day will have a different theme that will incorporate works of art in the galleries and art-making activities in the studio. We will have special guests throughout the week, including a music therapist who will lead interactive musical activities and a professional storyteller who will tell art-related stories incorporating sensory elements. Visual picture schedules and social stories will be used to integrate art, music, social interaction, sensory exploration, and movement.

Do you know how many different art materials you can use in a week? Count your way to the answer with inspiration taken from artworks in the Museum's collection! Learn about landscape, still life, collage, prints, and abstract art while using your imagination and a colorful combination of wacky and traditional materials to create your own masterpieces. By the end of the week, you'll be a master materials-mixer!

Learn how to puppeteer a variety of puppets from an award-winning puppeteer who brings a touchable collection for kids to explore, including hand, rod, finger, shadow, and marionettes. Then craft your own original puppet characters and stories based on works of art in the galleries in this weeklong camp culminating in a one-of-a-kind puppet extravaganza to present to family and friends!

Discover portraits, still lifes, landscapes, and abstract art from the DMA's collection. Explore the galleries through fun games and one-of-a-kind activities. Paint, draw, collage, and build sculptures to express your creativity in the studio!

Create your own "happily ever afters" as we explore the connections between art and story. Finding inspiration in classic children's books and works of art from the Museum's collection, you will create your own picture book, a cast of puppets, painted scenery, and much more. This camp will surely have a happy ending!

Learn how to shoot artistic photographs and use them to create top-notch artworks. Take your inspiration from the Museum's collection and the architecture in and around the DMA. Please bring your own digital camera to this class. (This camp does not teach developing and printing.)

Learn about musical instruments in the Museum's collection, discover how the instruments were used, and explore the meaning of music from different cultures. Spend two days on-site at the Meyerson Symphony Center, where you will get a behind-the-scenes tour and a chance to hear live music. Throughout the week, have fun responding to works of art with music and making your own high-quality instruments in the studio.

Immerse yourself in art in the Museum's galleries as you see how artists use different types of paint and techniques to create landscapes, portraits, and abstract paintings. Sketch 3D works of art and challenge yourself to transform them into 2D. Have fun experimenting in the studio as you build skills in brush techniques, color mixing, and printmaking while using watercolor, tempera, inks, and acrylics. Take on the challenge of new ideas and materials.

Have you ever wondered how Lego characters, jewelry, or skateboard graphics are designed? Learn about elements of design used by artists as you explore works of art in the galleries, ranging from decorative arts and furniture to wearable art and functional objects. Learn how to use line, form, shadow, and space to capture design ideas in your sketchbook, and then use those ideas when you create your own design masterpieces using graphite, colored pencils, charcoal, and pastels in the studio.

Explore works of art in the galleries as you search for a rainbow of colors and fun subject matter. Dress for mess and discover the power of color as you draw, paint, and print using basic color theory to create art with real pizzazz!

Combine printmaking and collage for some exciting experimentation with materials! Explore narrative works of art in the galleries and then create your own artwork narration based on your favorite song lyrics or poems in the studio. Learn about sculpture in the collection and then add a modern twist to a sculptural work of your own. From charcoal to paint and ink to clay, this camp has something for everyone!

Have you ever looked at Frederic Edwin Church's The Icebergs and wanted a little more? What if Gerald Murphy's Watch had little elves hiding among the cogs? Would a jaunty kerchief and a bouquet of flowers liven up Henry Moore's Reclining Figure? If imitation is the highest form of flattery, let's flatter the masters by re-envisioning some of the Museum's well-known works of art! Explore landscapes, still life, portraits, and sculptures in the galleries and then create a painting of your own to transform using collage, mixed media, and 3D elements in the studio.

Designed especially for graduates of the New World Kids camp, Think Like a Pro takes creativity to the next level. Using the building blocks of the Sensory Alphabet, campers will dig into how our minds work by collaborating with community guests and fellow campers on large-scale projects. Learn from the likes of an architect, a storyteller, and a graphic designer, and build a model playground, write and perform a play, design a poster, and more. Parents new to the New World Kids approach are invited to an orientation prior to the camp, and all families and friends are welcome at the concluding special exhibition of the children's work. Each participant will receive a T-shirt and a creativity journal!

Arturo's flock of family and friends will supply inspiration for a week of art activities! Using traditional and nontraditional art materials, students will create drawings, sculpture, costumes, stories, movement, and music. Get ready for a grand finale filled with camp creations and a narrated story performance complete with costumes and set.

Travel the globe and discover stories from around the world in this fun, adventure-filled camp! Learn about Japanese warriors, fearless superheroes, and amazing animals in the galleries before crafting your own creatures in the studio. Make up stories of your own and bring them to life with materials like paint, ink, clay, recycled materials, and pastels.

Think you know your ABCs? Think again! In this camp, children will learn a new alphabet that stretches their creativity and offers a new way to see the world. Each day, campers will explore an element of the Sensory Alphabet-line, color, texture, movement, sound, rhythm, space, light,and shape-through open-ended projects, gallery activities, and visits from people in the community who will share what it is like to think and work the way they do. Parents get to join in the fun! This camp includes a special Parent Orientation led by Museum educators about the cognitive research behind this camp. At the camp's conclusion, parents are invited to a special exhibition of the children's work.

"The Teen Actor Training Program (ATP) provides advanced training for students desiring an intensive theater experience, under the guidance of professional actors and directors. During the three-week ATP program, students are immersed in a variety of classes, in addition to their core acting curriculum, which may include: Voice, Movement, Improv, Audition, Directing, Musical Theater, Design, Playwriting, or Shakespeare.

In addition, ATP students will be given unparalleled access to the artistic process in a professional theater, as they interact with mainstage artists and get an "insider's look" at the making of DTC's groundbreaking summer production Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor® Dreamcoat."

"Explore the world of John Davies' operatic version of Jack and the Beanstalk at campTDO. Join the Dallas Opera for a 3-hour interactive discussion that gives campers a first-hand account of what it takes to create an opera production. Under the guidance of TDO teaching artists, campers will get a behind-the-scenes experience of what it takes to perform live opera. Each campTDO session will conclude with a fully-staged performance of Jack and the Beanstalk performed by TDO teaching artists."
